Children's Ministry

At First UMC Palestine, we offer many fun and exciting opportunities for children to learn about Jesus and grow in God's love – from Sunday School classes to special children's activities througout the year. We also have nursery program for infants and toddlers.

Our Sunday School for children begins at 10 a.m. (right after donuts in the Fellowship Hall!) Our dedicated teachers share the love of God in a safe, secure setting, teaching Biblical principles and lessons to build a strong faith foundation in our youngest disciples. 

Special Programs

Our children are an integral part of our church community. Besides serving as acolytes during regular worship services, one Sunday during the Fall, they work alongside our pastor and our youth group to lead a morning worship service. Children do everything from helping the ushers to leading the worship songs to reading from the scriptures. Sometimes, they even deliver a message.

In September, we present children entering the third grade with their very own Bibles. 

During December, our children perform a musical or drama based on the Christmas story. The special performance gives them the opportunity to learn the Christmas story through music, acting and dance.

Vacation Bible School

During the month of July, we host more than 100 children in our community for Vacation Bible School. 

It is a special time of faith and fun, where they learn different stories from the Bible, 

make crafts, learn new music and play games outside.
