The goal of our music ministry team is to glorify God through singing and playing music. We believe music is a gift from God and it is a joy to share this with our church family. We hope that those who listen will find a closer relationship with Him. We have many opportunities for you to join us!
The Chancel Choir is made up of individuals who find joy in singing for the glory of God. The music we perform ranges from standard hymns and hymn arrangements to contemporary Christian favorites.
The choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. and sings during the 11 a.m. service. The choir also performs cantatas for Christmas and Easter. Everyone is welcome to sing in these special events.
We are looking to expand our Chancel Choir in performing at both worship services. The best part is, you can still continue attending your service of choice. Please consider helping us “make a joyful noise to the Lord!”
The Praise team worships through the singing of contemporary praise and worship music. The praise team leads music at our 9 a.m. service and rehearses on Sunday mornings before worship.
If you are interested in being a part of the Praise Team, contact the church office and set up a time to meet with the team for a brief audition. The Praise Team needs individuals who can sing harmony, work well with others and want to enhance the worship experience by leading others in praising God through song.
The Glory Bells enjoy ringing for God. The bell choir currently plays two- and three-octave music and is hoping to expand. All you need to join the Glory Bells is a love of music and a basic understanding of music theory. We have plenty of teachers to help anyone who is interested.
The hand bells meet Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and play during the 11 a.m. service on the third Sunday of the month from September to May.
The Glory Bells have also been known to play around the community at Christmastime.
Miriam, the prophetess (Aaron’s sister), took a tambourine and led all the women in rhythm and dance. They were praising and worshiping God. After He safely led the Israelites through the Red Sea away from Pharoah. Exodus 15:2
God loves it when we use the talents He gives us to worship Him. Dance, poetry and drama can all be used to enhance our worship services. Painting and creating backgrounds for dramatizations is enhancing to worship. Even sign language and song is a beautiful way to worship.
God provides us with so many talents and ways to inspire our Sunday Worship. We invite you to take the step forward and say YES to God, then watch how He takes an ordinary Worship service and turns it into something awe inspiring to glorify Him.
Our audio/visual team plays an important role in enhancing the worship experience through sight and sound. If you have basic knowledge of using a computer and/or have ever worked with a sound or light board, contact the church office. Everyone who shows interest will be trained on our equipment.
The visual task group aims in enhancing our service through displays in the front of the sanctuary. At Thanksgiving, we display arrangements of fresh fruit and vegetables, showing our thankfulness for God's abundant goodness. At Pentecost, the sanctuary is filled with candles, portraying the light of Christ. For Christmas and Easter, special flowers adorn our sanctuary, bringing joy and beauty to the holy days.
Are you a creative mind that likes to arrange or shop for decor? Would you be willing to brainstorm and decide on displays for special Sundays? If so, contact the church office for more info.
We are always looking to grow our music ministry. Here are some new groups we'd like to expand.
Do you play a wind instrument? Do you still own your old horn from high school? Even if it was ages ago, you should dust off that instrument and start buzzing that mouthpiece and consider joining our Wind Ensemble in playing wind ensemble music.
These ensembles play music to glorify God and possibly travel and spread the ministry to the neighborhood or other areas. All levels are welcome, including youth currently in their school band programs.
Are you a fan of tight harmony? Consider joining our Barbershop ensemble. We would love to grow this ministry and even add a ladies ensemble to the mix. Members of this group should be able to read music and harmonize on pitch.
