First Methodist Palestine has a dedicated group of Prayer Warriors who come together for intercessory prayer for immediate or ongoing prayer concerns. On Thursday mornings at 9:30 in the Parlor, members meet to pray for the sick, injured and others in need of a special touch of God’s love.
Our Email Prayer Chain Warriors pray daily at specific times during the day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you would like to add someone to the prayer list, please contact the Church secretary.
Additional Prayer Warriors and Moderators are needed in all of our prayer ministries. If you are being called to be a Prayer Warrior or Moderator, please contact the Church office.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry group meets to knit or crochet a tapestry of yarn and prayer for someone who needs comfort during a difficult time. The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets the third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m.
You are also encouraged to use the First UMC Palestine Prayer Room anytime the Church office is open. The Prayer Room is located to the left of the Altar, on the way into the Choir Room. A sign is available to hang on the door to insure privacy while the room is in use.
A Community Prayer Box has recently been added just to the left of the Church office entrance. Everyone in the community is encouraged to use this special prayer box for prayer requests and/or other concerns and stories of answered prayers.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
